A call centre worker, who was fired from her job following a fight with a security guard over a ripped jeans but ended up in another fight with a manager whom she felt had a hand in her dismissal, is to appear in court on January 14 next year along with the manager.

Jonell Campbell, who was employed at the call centre in Kingston as a customer care representative, and facilities manager Tanisha Williams are both charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.

Nineteen-year-old Campbell of a Kingston address is accused of shoving 39-year-old Williams, also from Kingston, and hitting her in the face, while Williams is accused of cutting Campbell with a scissors.

On Friday when the case was mentioned, only Campbell was present in court, hence a warrant was issued for Williams’ arrest for disobedience of summons.

The incident took place at the business place on October 9.

The allegations before the court are that Campbell went to Williams’ office and shoved her and Williams retaliated by pushing her, resulting in a fight which came to an end after workers intervened and pulled them a part.

The matter was reported and both were charged.

Campbell’s bail was extended for her to return to court next year.
